Mohair

Mohair comes from the Angora goat - not to be confused with the Angora rabbit!

The yarn is very soft and fine and this wool is one of the most precious wool at all. Especially the KidMohair from goats that are not older than one year.
Yarn from mohair is particularly fluffy and has the ability to store and also release heat particularly well. The goats are shorn twice a year. This results in about 2.5 kilos of the long, silky and rather curly hair per animal. Most mohair yarn today comes from breeding farms in South Africa. Originally, mohair goats were native to the high plateaus of Inner Asia and Turkey.

This is what we've been waiting for: a gossamer new development from Atelier Zitron. 100% KidMohair with incredibly fine 12 micron. In 15 plain colors and 4 mottled color shades. For the finest shawls or as a supplementary thread.
